Full-Frame Sensor with Triple Resolution Technology
At the heart of the Leica Q3 is a newly developed back-illuminated CMOS sensor featuring Triple Resolution Technology.
You can choose from 60MP, 36MP, or 18MP resolution settings to record images in DNG (RAW) or JPEG format.
Choosing 60MP captures even the finest details and textures of your subject.
36MP and 18MP offer advantages like faster performance, longer continuous shooting, and smaller file sizes.
Regardless of the resolution selected, the entire sensor area is used for image capture.
ISO sensitivity ranges from ISO 50 to ISO 100,000.
The Q3 is also equipped with the latest generation of the LEICA MAESTRO image processor, developed in collaboration with Panasonic under the “L² Technology” initiative. This boosts overall operational speed.
High-Performance Lens: Leica Summilux f/1.7 28mm ASPH.
The camera is fitted with Leica’s iconic fast lens, the Summilux f/1.7/28mm ASPH., which supports macro photography with a minimum focusing distance of 17cm.
Delivers ultra-high-resolution images.
Equipped with a digital zoom function allowing you to choose between 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 90mm angles of view.
Also features two new image assist functions:
Leica Perspective Control (LPC)
Leica Dynamic Range (LDR)
These produce beautiful JPEGs straight from the camera—no post-processing needed.
Advanced Autofocus System
The autofocus system has been significantly upgraded:
Hybrid AF system combining contrast detection, phase detection, and Depth From Defocus (DFD) technology.
Intelligent object recognition for sharper, more accurate focus.
Features a new 5.76-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder for a clear and sharp view of your subject.
Tiltable LCD Monitor & OLED Viewfinder
The 3.0-inch high-resolution touchscreen LCD now features a tilting mechanism, enhancing creative flexibility in shooting angles.
Despite the new tilting design, the Q3 maintains IP52-rated dust and splash resistance, on par with the previous Leica Q2.
Improved Data Transmission & Connectivity
Just like the Leica Q2, the Q3 supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for seamless, fast communication.
Now with MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) support, image transfer speeds to the Leica FOTOS app are about 10x faster than the Q2.
New features with Leica FOTOS include:
Video file transfer to mobile devices.
Downloading “Leica Looks”—creative JPEG styles—for in-camera use.
You can also switch between Eco Mode and High Performance Mode for optimized power use and workflow.
Certified as "Made for iPhone" and "Made for iPad" by Apple, the Leica Q3 connects smoothly to Apple devices using the included Leica FOTOS cable.
iPads with a USB-C port can connect using a standard USB-C cable.
Up to 8K High-Resolution Video Recording
The Q3 now supports 8K video, and efficient codecs like H.265 and Apple ProRes RAW, making it highly versatile for creators.
New hardware additions:
HDMI and USB Type-C ports, enabling connections with gimbals, power banks, and external monitors.
USB Type-C allows for tethered shooting with software like Capture One or Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, further extending its use cases despite being a compact digital camera.
Wireless Charging with Stylish Accessories
New optional accessories include:
A wireless charging handgrip and wireless charger, compatible with Leica’s BP-SCL6 battery and Qi-enabled devices.
