Leica M4 Black Chrome Arrival
2026.01.22
Hello!
This is the 6th floor of Shinjuku Kitamura Camera Store.
Today we are pleased to introduce the
Leica M4 Black Chrome.
The Leica M4 was released in 1967.
The model introduced here is the Black Chrome version, produced in the final years of the M4’s production run, specifically in 1974–1975.
Unlike the glossy black paint finish, this camera features a matte black chrome finish, giving it a refined and dignified appearance.
Black chrome was first adopted in 1971 with the Leica M5, followed by military models such as the KE-7A, and was later introduced on the Leica M4.
Compared to black paint, black chrome offers greater durability and resistance to scratches, which led to this finish becoming the standard on later Leica models.
Functionally, this camera is identical to other Leica M4 models in silver chrome or black paint.
The bright-line viewfinder supports 35mm, 50mm, 90mm, and 135mm lenses.
It features simplified film loading and a crank-style rewind, enhancing usability.
This is a highly practical camera that can be used confidently in everyday shooting.
Please visit our store to see and try it in person.
In stock as of January 22, 2026.
